Total Angola contracts Skandi Aker for interventions offshore Angola

Total E&P Angola has contracted Aker Oilfield Services to provide subsea intervention services using the Skandi Aker vessel.

OSLO, Norway –Total E&P Angola has contracted Aker Oilfield Services to provide subsea intervention services using the Skandi Aker vessel.

Skandi Aker is the first well service vessel of its kind, says Aker, capable of performing riser-based subsea well intervention in deep and ultra deepwater.

The agreement is for two years at a total of $250 million and has options for three one-year extensions.

Operations off Angola are scheduled to start 1Q 2013.

Under the contract Skandi Aker will perform subsea intervention activities related to:

• Well re-entry for testing

• Well re-entry for interventions using wireline, coil tubing, and well stimulations

• Running/lifting subsea trees with cable or workover riser

• Suspension or P&A of wells.
