SINGAPORE —Sembcorp Marine Rigs & Floaters has entered master service agreements with New Fortress Energy (NFE) covering engineering and conversion of two Sevan cylindrical drilling vessels to floating LNG (FLNG) facilities.
The proposed arrangements include fabrication and integration of LNG topside modules.
The hull conversion and fabrication of topsides for the first FLNG facility is due to be delivered in the first half of 2024 under a work engagement contract awarded by NFE.
Work on the second will likely come under further work engagement contracts to be issued at a later date.
The two FLNG liquefaction units, featuring Sevan cylindrical hulls, will host the NFE-designed Fast LNG liquefaction production facility with a capacity of about 1.4 MM metric tons per year.
LNG produced will be stored in a separate LNG tanker moored near the FLNG liquefaction facility. NFE also has Fast LNG liquefaction facilities on jackup rigs under construction in the US.
