Offshore staff
ATHENS, Greece — RINA and Greek engineering consultancy Asprofos will provide project management consultancy services for the Alexandroupolis Independent Natural Gas System, owned and developed by Gastrade.
The facilities will comprise a permanently moored floating storage regasification unit (FSRU) and a 28-km pipeline system connecting the vessel to the Greek National Natural Gas Transmission System.
It will be stationed in the northeastern Aegean Sea, 17.6 km southwest of Alexandroupolis in northeast Greece.
The FSRU will have a storage capacity of 153,500 cu. m, a nominal gas send out rate of 625,000 cu. m/h and a peak (without redundancy) gas send-out rate of up to 944,000 cu. m/h.
This is a fast-track project, with the FSRU due to start operating by year-end 2023. RINA and Asprofos will ensure compliance with the contractual requirements in terms of expected performance, quality, safety and planning, also supporting Gastrade on technical and managerial planning and oversight.
Asprofos has been involved in all phases of the majority of the National Natural Gas System of Greece over the past three decades, including the LNG terminal in Revithoussa.
It has also supported developments including the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), IGI Poseidon Pipeline and EastMed Pipeline, providing engineering, environmental, permitting, project management, construction management and supervision services.
