CIMC Raffles delivers Perro Negro 11 rig to Saipem

Saipem has taken delivery of the modified jackup drilling rig Perro Negro 11 (ex-Gulf Driller VII), following a naming ceremony at the CIMC shipyard in Longkou, China.
The new Perro Negro 11 jackup has been officially christened and becomes part of the Saipem offshore drilling fleet.

SAN DONATO MILANESE, Italy— Saipem has taken delivery of the modified jackup drilling rig Perro Negro 11 (ex-Gulf Driller VII), following a naming ceremony at the CIMC shipyard in Longkou, China.
The company has chartered the rig on a bareboat basis, with a five-year contract secured for operations for Saudi Aramco.
In addition, Saipem has signed a memorandum of understanding with CIMC Raffles to pursue further opportunities in offshore drilling and construction and “New Energies."
Perro Negro 11, equipped with MH Wirth drilling equipment, is 70 m long, 76 m wide and with a total trussed length of 167 m. Its maximum operational water depth is 120 m, with a maximum drilling depth of 10,668 m.
