SAN DONATO MILANESE, Italy – Saipem has signed a memorandum of agreement to sell its Cidade de Vitoria FPSO to BW Energy (BWE) for $75 million, according to a June 24 BWE news release.

The vessel operates at the Golfinho Field offshore Brazil. Last week Petrobras agreed to sell its operated stake in Golfinho to BWE.

Completion of the transaction should take place in first-quarter 2023. Saipem added that the vessel’s present lease and operate contract with Petrobras, which would have expired next February, is now extended until the FPSO takeover, or June 2024.

BWE CEO Carl Arnet said owning two operating assets off Brazil (the other being the Maromba Field development) would create synergies for the company.

Cidade de Vitoria, with 1.6 MMbbl of storage capacity, can produce more than 100,000 bbl/d of oil with further capacity for gas production and compression.

BWE aims to increase production from the Golfinho cluster, accommodating upside from planned future developments in the area.
