ESBJERG, Denmark – Floatel International has appointed Semco Maritime to perform service work on the semisubmersible accommodation and construction support vessel Floatel Superior.
The harsh environment rig will dock at Hanøytangen, Norway shortly, with the program set to employ around 100 people until mid-March.
Work will include drydocking of the vessel, installation of thrusters, cleaning, surface treatment, repairs and system tests.
The Hanøytangen drydock is said to be the largest in northern Europe – 125 x 125 x 17 m (410 x 410 x 56 ft) – with accommodation with single beds for 365 workers and several quays with depths ranging from 17-90 m (56-295 ft) at quayside.
In 2018, Semco serviced the Floatel Victory at Hanøytangen.
