SINGAPORE – Keppel Shipyard has received three contracts worth about S$250 million ($186 million) from repeat customers.
For the first contract, the company has received the final notice to proceed from GAS-fifteen Ltd. for the conversion of an LNG carrier into an FSRU.
The work scope includes the engineering, procurement, and construction of the regasification skid, as well as the supporting systems such as boilers, spread-mooring, offloading, electrical and automation systems.
When completed, the FSRU will be deployed about 17 km (11 mi) southwest of the Port of Alexandroupolis, Greece, and have an overall delivery capacity of about 5.5 bcm/yr, with a peak send out of 22 MMcm/d. The FSRU will eventually be transferred to Gastrade and taking the gasified LNG to Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, North Macedonia, Moldova, and Ukraine.
The second contract is between Keppel Shipyard and MODEC for the installation and integration of topsides modules onboard the Bacalhau FPSO. The yard’s scope of work will also include the fabrication of a flare tower and two crane pedestals, the assembly and installation of two deck cranes, as well as completion and commissioning support for MODEC.
The hull of the FPSO is expected to arrive in Singapore in 2H 2022, with delivery scheduled for 2H 2023. Upon completion, the FPSO will operate at the Equinor-operated Bacalhau field in the Santos basin offshore Brazil.
This is expected to be one of the largest FPSOs in Brazil. It is designed to produce up to 220,000 b/d of crude oil and to inject up to 530 MMcf/d of associated gas and up to 200,000 b/d of seawater, with a minimum crude storage capacity of 2 MMbbl.
The final contract is between the company and a Boskalis subsidiary for the repair and jumboization of two trailing suction hopper dredgers (TSHD).
Work on the first TSHD has started and it is expected to be re-delivered in 2Q 2022. The second TSHD is scheduled for arrival in 3Q 2022 with re-delivery in 4Q 2022. Each vessel will be integrated with a new owner-furnished block which will increase the vessel’s overall length from its existing 156 m to 201 m (512 ft to 659 ft). At the same time, both vessels will undergo refurbishment including the overhauling and replacement of equipment.
