PARIS – The flare has been installed on the FPSO Energean Power at the Sembcorp Admiralty Yard in Singapore.
According to Technip Energies, the 655-ton, 105-m (344-ft) tall telescopic flare structure was installed in two operations.
The fixed part of the flare, which weighs 500 tons and is 50 m (164 ft) tall, was lifted onto the FPSO on Jan. 14. The 155-ton, 55-m (180-ft) mobile flare was lifted and inserted inside the fixed part on Feb. 24.

The two-piece design is the first of its type in the world, Technip claimed. The vessel will be towed from Singapore to Israel via the Suez Canal, which includes a bridge with a 68 m (223 ft) height clearance. This design was the best solution for the FPSO to pass the bridge with minimal clearance, the company said.
The next milestone is the flare deployment test to ensure the mobile part can be deployed smoothly using its pre-installed hydraulic strand jacks.
