DELFT, the Netherlands – Allseas says that for the first time, the world’s two largest pipelay vessels, Solitaire and Pioneering Spirit, are together in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
After completing work for Equinor’s Troll Phase 3 project in the Norwegian Sea, the Solitaire returned to Rotterdam to prepare for her next assignment, offshore Israel.
For Troll Phase 3, the Solitaire pulled-in the 36-in. pipeline to Troll A platform and installed a 26-km (16-mi), 36-in. concrete-coated pipeline and two inline tees. The company also designed, fabricated, and supplied materials for laydown heads and installation aids.
