Kistos overturns Dutch government decision on North Sea gas license

Kistos has won its appeal against the Netherlands Ministry of Economic Affairs’ decision not to extend the term of the company’s M10/M11 license in the North Sea.

Kistos has completed its acquisition of Norwegian E&P independent Mime Petroleum, securing entry to the Norwegian Continental Shelf.

The Balder X project aims to extend production to 2045 and consists of four ongoing projects: Balder FPU (pictured) life extension – vessel upgrade, drilling new wells on Ringhorne III/IV and Balder Future including Jotun FPSO lifetime extension, and drilling 14 new production wells and one water injection well.

The harsh water Glen Lyon newbuild FPSO is working for bp in West of Shetland on FEED and other related work. KBR designed the 21,000-ton topsides providing production capacity for 320,000 bbl/d of liquids and 220 MMscfd/d of gas and 380,000 bbl/d of produced water and seawater injection.
