March 26, 2025
SPIE Wind Connect has secured a contract with Van Oord for the termination and testing of inter-array cables on the Ecowende offshore wind farm.

In the Dutch North Sea, Van Oord has contracted wind power high-voltage specialist SPIE Wind Connect to perform termination and testing on the 760-MW Ecowende wind farm, 53 km offshore IJmuiden.

SPIE’s services relate to the 52, 66-kV inter-array cables on the Hollandse Kust (west) lot VI area, where the Ecowende wind farm will be constructed.

As marine contractor, Van Oord is responsible for transportation and installation of components ranging from the foundations and scour protection to the inter-array cables and turbines. Offshore activity is due to start in April 2026.
