Dec. 5, 2024
JDR Cable Systems, part of the TFKable Group, has been awarded a contract by DEME Offshore to support Dominion Energy’s Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW) project.

DEME Offshore has brought in JDR Cable Systems to support Dominion Energy’s 2.6-GW Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW) project.

JDR’s scope of work covers 176 wind turbines and three offshore substations, including pull-in, termination, testing and commissioning of the 66-kV subsea inter-array cables.

The company expects to work to start in 2025 and continue into 2026, spread across three campaigns.

As part of the pull-in scope, JDR teams will winch and pull the cables from the seabed to the turbines, then fit electrical connectors and conduct termination testing to ensure secure connections.

High-voltage tests and final inspections will follow to confirm the integrity of the cables for reliable power transmission.
