Hitachi providing power management for North Sea East Anglia TWO wind project

ScottishPower Renewables has contracted Hitachi Energy to supply grid connection equipment for North Sea wind farm.

Iberdrola subsidiary ScottishPower Renewables has contracted Hitachi Energy to supply offshore and onshore grid connection equipment for the 960-MW East Anglia TWO wind farm.

The location is 32 km offshore the Suffolk coast of eastern England in the southern North Sea.

Hitachi Energy will provide Grid-eXpand offshore and onshore grid connection services equipment using EconiQ gas-insulated switchgear.

The company will also deploy its Grid-enSure SVC Light STATCOM power electronics/control systems to maintain flexible, and stable power during periods of intermittent wind.
