SBM, Technip Energies launch floating wind venture

SBM Offshore and Technip Energies have established Ekwil, a 50/50 floating offshore wind (FOW) joint venture.

The goal is to offer a diverse range of FOW solutions suited to serial production to meet energy clients’ needs globally.

Ekwil, headquartered in France, brings together Technip Energies’ Semi-submersible INO15 and SBM’s Tension Leg Platform Float4Wind.

The company has a core team of 40 specialists supported by SBM/Technip Energies’ for project execution.

CEO Séverine Baudic was formerly managing director of New Energies & Services at SBM Offshore. COO Willy Gauttier was previously vp Floating Offshore Wind of Technip Energies.
