Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners has awarded Jan de Nul Group a preferred supplier agreement for the 500-MW Fengmiao I wind farm offshore Taiwan.

Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) has awarded Jan de Nul Group a preferred supplier agreement for the 500-MW Fengmiao I wind farm offshore Taiwan.

This covers the installation of about 90 km of subsea high-voltage export cables.

Fengmiao I, part of the 1,800-MW Fengmiao wind project, is 35 km from the coast of Taichung.

Jan De Nul Group will connect the Fengmiao I offshore substation to Taiwan’s grid via two AC HV cables (45 km and 44 5km long) using the Willem de Vlamingh cable-lay vessel.

The company is responsible for transport and installation of the cables, including the protection of crossings with other cables. The cables weigh altogether more than 8,000 metric tons.

Last week CIP announced that the Zhong Neng wind farm offshore Taiwan delivered first power.
