EDINBURGH, UK — INEOS Styrosolution has awarded Edge Solutions a 10-year agreement to supply its Armour Edge technology for offshore/onshore wind turbines.
The service is designed to repair and protects the leading edge of the turbine blades from erosion.
It involves use of a fitted modular shield that employs a tailored version of INEOS’ Luran SC thermoplastic material, engineered specifically for wind turbine blades.
Edge’s other users include RWE and the German offshore wind farm Riffgat, with various clients looking to increase the volume of coverage per blade.
