PARIS, France — Nexans has gained its first call-off work under a framework agreement with Dutch/German energy group TenneT, awarded in April 2023.
This is an EPCI program covering high-voltage direct current (HVDC) cables for the BalWin3 and LanWin4 grid connection systems, which will export 4 GW of offshore wind power from the North Sea to Wilhelmshaven in northern Germany.
Nexans will supply its new 525-kV HVDC XLPE cable technology and deploy a four-bundle cable lay method from its newest construction vessel.
