Prysmian supplying cables for two German offshore wind farms

Amprion has awarded Prysmian cable contracts for the offshore grid connection systems for the BalWin1 and BalWin2 offshore wind projects in the German North Sea.
MILAN, Italy — Amprion has awarded Prysmian cable contracts for the offshore grid connection systems for the BalWin1 and BalWin2 offshore wind projects in the German North Sea.
Prysmian’s scope of supply includes 1,000 km of submarine ±525 kV HVDC cables and dedicated metallic return cables.
The BalWin projects in offshore areas 9 and 10 will each supply up to 2 GW of power to Germany’s western and southern regions.
