HAUGESUND, Norway — Deep Wind Offshore applied for a permit in late December to construct and operate the offshore Olof Skötkonung wind farm in the Gulf of Bothnia, southern Sweden.
This will be located in Sweden’s exclusive economic zone northeast of Gävleborg and Uppsala counties. The planned wind park will include a maximum of 70 wind turbines, which will be located on bottom-fixed foundations in water depths of 18-75 m.
Olof Skötkonung should produce about 7.5 TWh/year of electricity.
Deep Wind Offshore is working on other wind projects with bp in South Korea and with EDF Renewables on the projects in Norway.
