Offshore staff
ROTTERDAM, the Netherlands — Van Oord has completed installation of the Hollandse Kust Noord wind farm, 18.5 km from the coast near Egmond aan Zee, the Netherlands.
CrossWind, a joint venture between Shell and Eneco, designated the company Balance of Plant contractor for the project in 2020.
Its duties covered the design, engineering, procurement, and transport and installation of the 70 wind turbine foundations, inter-array cables, followed by transport and installation of the wind turbines.
Van Oord began installing the foundations in October. For the full campaign, it deployed its flexible fallpipe vessels Bravenes and Nordnes, the jackup installation vessel MPI Resolution, cable-laying vessel Nexus and trencher Dig-It, collaborating with DEME, Seajacks and Cadeler.
