Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners has awarded an EPC contract for a substation for an offshore wind development offshore Taiwan to the consortium of Semco Maritime and PTSC M&C.
The 500-MW offshore substation will be part of the Feng Miao project 36 km from the coast of Taichung on the Taiwanese west coast. The development is due to be commissioned by 2027.
The EPC order extends to commissioning of the substation. All structures will be fabricated at PTSC M&C’s yard in Vungtau City, Vietnam, with Semco Maritime tasked with design, procurement and installation of high- and medium-voltage, SCADA and auxiliary systems, with support from ISC Consulting Engineers.
This is the third offshore substation project awarded to the consortium following the Hai Long and Baltica 02 offshore wind developments, both of which are progressing according to plan, Semco Maritime said.
