GLASGOW, UK – ScottishPower Renewables has contracted Great Yarmouth-based Stowen Group to support construction of the East Anglia Hub windfarm developments (East Anglia ONE North, East Anglia TWO and East Anglia THREE) in the UK southern North Sea.
Stowen will provide specialist personnel and management and coordinate interim operations and maintenance during the construction campaign, and training, materials and equipment associated with the offshore works.
East Anglia THREE, 69 km from the Suffolk coast in eastern England, and said to be the world’s second largest wind farm development (with an output of up to 1,400 MW), is due to start operation in 2026.
Construction started last July. The development covers a 305-sq km area and will feature up to 100 offshore wind turbines and associated foundations, with a 262-m tip height for the turbines and a rotor diameter of 230 meters.
Other offshore facilities are a single converter station and up to four subsea export cables to transmit electricity to the shore.
