ABERDEEN, UK— Global Wind Projects has started work on the Neart na Gaoithe (NnG) wind farm development in the UK North Sea offshore the coast of Fife in eastern Scotland.
Siemens Gamesa commissioned the company, formed by Global Port Services in 2021, to provide cranes, installation personnel and ground transport, in association with Forth Ports, for the pre-assembly of 54 offshore wind turbine towers for the NnG.
EDF Renewables and ESB are the joint developers.
The towers will be pre-assembled at Port of Dundee, the assembly and marshalling site for the 450-MW, 105-sq-km wind farm, and will then undergo transportation to the site.
Global Wind Projects has sent 90 personnel to the port to complete the work.
