MONACO — SBM Offshore and DP Energy formed a joint venture in July to pursue floating offshore wind opportunities offshore Nova Scotia, eastern Canada.
They will look to support the province’s climate action targets, which include phasing out of coal from the grid.
Their initial focus will be on helping to develop a local floating offshore wind industry, contributing to the implementation of environmental, regulatory, supply chain, workforce and construction best practices.
Both SBM Offshore and DP Energy have experience designing and constructing offshore floating facilities for the energy industry. They also have experience working in Nova Scotia, with an understanding of local regulatory issues and track record in local partnerships, SBM said.
