FREDERICIA, Denmark— Diamond Transmission Partners Hornsea Two (DTP) has agreed to acquire transmission assets in the Hornsea 2 wind farm, 90 km from the Yorkshire coast in the UK southern North Sea.
The sellers are Breesea, Soundmark Wind and Sonningmay Wind, a joint venture owned by Ørsted and AXA IM Alts/Crédit Agricole Assurances. The assets include the onshore substation, export cables, offshore reactive compensation substation and the offshore substation.
According to an assessment by Ofgem, the combined value is $1.141 billion.
DTP is a partnership between Diamond Transmission Corp. and HICL Infrastructure. Last September Ofgem selected DTP as preferred bidder for the offshore transmission license for Hornsea 2.
Ørsted will provide DTP with operations and maintenance services for the transmission facilities under a long-term agreement. Hornsea 2’s 165 Siemens Gamesa 8-MW wind turbines have a combined capacity of 1,320 MW.
