BW Ideol enters Iberian offshore wind development arrangement

BW Ideol has signed a head of terms with Spain’s Elawan Energy concerning the joint development of a multi-GW floating offshore wind pipeline off the coasts of Spain and Portugal.

LA CIOTAT, France— BW Ideol has signed a head of terms with Spain’s Elawan Energy concerning the joint development of a multi-GW floating offshore wind pipeline off the coasts of Spain and Portugal.
Elawan Energy has constructed more than 2.6 GW of renewable energy projects in Spain (solar, hydro and wind) with more than 8.4 GW of renewable projects under development.
Parent company ORIX Corp. is a multinational financial group, which has been headquartered in Japan since February, with a historical local footprint in Spain.
BW Ideol and ORIX are already collaborating in Japan as co-development partners on one of BW Ideol’s floating offshore wind projects currently under development.
The new agreement covers the joint development of various commercial-scale projects relate to upcoming tenders anticipated in Spain and Portugal.
