MADRID, Spain — The BlueFloat Energy and Renantis partnership has signed agreements with Crown Estate Scotland to develop the Sinclair and Scaraben projects, following successful bids in the recent INTOG (Innovation and Targeted Oil & Gas) leasing round.
The two 99.5-MW floating offshore wind farms will be developed as part of the partnership’s Broadshore project, 47 km north of Fraserburgh, northeast Scotland.
According to BlueFloat Energy, Sinclair and Scaraben will feature innovative foundation technologies, associated fabrication and mooring systems with a focus on maximizing opportunities for the Scottish supply chain.
The partnership already has a 3.1-GW portfolio of ScotWind projects comprising the 1.2-GW Bellrock and 900-MW Broadshore projects, and they are also co-developing the 1 GW Stromar project with Ørsted.
In the Celtic Sea offshore Wales, the partnership has plans for two 1-GW projects, Petroc and Llywelyn under the Crown Estate’s upcoming seabed auction.
