AALBORG, Denmark — ProCon Wind Energy, IWS Fleet and IWS Services have teamed up to offer a one-stop operations and maintenance service for offshore wind turbine foundations and substations.
The package encompasses IWS Fleet’s new service vessels, IWS Services’ supply chain management and ProCon’s maintenance offering, avoiding a requirement for multiple sub-suppliers and interfaces.
IWS Fleet’s hybrid vessels are each equipped with a new gangway system providing access to the offshore foundation, a 2.2-MW-hr battery pack and solar charging. The hull and propulsion design is said to provide improved operability with energy consumption estimated at 20% lower than comparable service operations vessels.
And each vessel has a motioned controlled crane to support stable transfer of equipment from ship to platform as well as accommodation for 120 technicians plus equipment.

ProCon Wind Energy, IWS Fleet and IWS Services are majority owned by Oslo-listed Integrated Wind Solutions (IWS), originally formed by the Awilco group. IWS holds 75% ownership of ProCon.
The partners are currently providing design, engineering, assembly, installation, commissioning, maintenance and vessel services for various offshore wind projects, including Dogger Bank in the UK North Sea.
