MANLY, Australia— A consortium of Spark Renewables, Simply Blue Group and Subsea7 will jointly pursue floating offshore wind development opportunities off the coast of New South Wales, Australia.
Specifically, they are targeting the Hunter and Illawarra regions and their recently declared renewable energy zones.
Spark Renewables is a locally based developer and owner of wind, solar and storage assets across the country. Its owner Spark Infrastructure has interests in the New South Wales transmission network operator Transgrid.
Simply Blue Group has a pipeline of 10 GW of floating offshore wind projects in Ireland, UK, Europe and the US. The company and Subsea7 are collaborating on the Salamander floating offshore wind project in Scotland.
