PARIS, France ENGIE has appointed Technip Energies the EPC contractor for its 100-MW green hydrogen HyNetherlands project, with John Cockerill as the electrolyzer supplier.

In its latest results statement, Technip Energies said it had supported ENGIE during the program’s initial phase toward final investment decision.

The production complex will be located on the site of the Eems power plant in Eemshaven, 30 km northeast of Groningen and close to the German border.

The development, which will be powered by renewable electricity from nearby offshore wind farms in the North Sea, will supply green hydrogen for the production of e-methanol, and renewable-based hydrogen to decarbonize the local maritime and industry sectors.

HyNetherlands has been short-listed for IPCEI funding.
