Under the agreement, Corio would be the majority shareholder and lead developer with 50% plus 10 shares in the project.
Late last year Taiwan’s Bureau of Energy confirmed 600 MW of grid capacity for Formosa 3’s Haiding 2 wind farm following the first phase of Taiwan’s Round 3 auctions.
The project, which comprises the Haiding 1, 2 and 3 wind farms off Changhua county on Taiwan’s central-western coast of Taiwan, has an approved capacity of about 2 GW.
TotalEnergies and Corio are already collaborating on the 2-GW West of Orkney wind farm project off northern Scotland; the 1.5-GW Outer Dowsing offshore wind project in England; more than 2 GW of floating wind projects off South Korea; the 250-MW floating wind farm tender in France’s South Brittany region; and the 500-MW floating wind farm tender in France’s Mediterranean region.
