Offshore staff
SINGAPORE — HST Marine has ordered four hybrid StratCat 27 (SC27) crew transfer vessels from Strategic Marine for delivery within the next few months.
UK-based HST Marine owns and operates offshore vessels serving Europe’s offshore wind industries. Maritime energy transportation and infrastructure systems provider Purus Marine acquired the company in 2022.
The BMT-designed StratCat 27 is a 27-m-long vessel designed to operate under a wide range of loading conditions, with a hull form said to maximize waterline length with reduced fuel consumption. It has a maximum travelling speed of 26 knots.
Accommodations and bridge deck layout have been modified following feedback from vessel operators and clients, including adaptations to cut the risk of infectious disease, in compliance with Bureau Veritas biosafety notations.
The vessel’s bridge deck layout is said to provide improved visibility from the helm with an ergonomic layout to increase comfort for the bridge crew. And under Strategic Marine's collaboration with Sea Forrest Power Solutions and Danfoss Power Solutions a retrofittable hybrid power option can be included.
This is said to lead to a reduction in main engine hours and maintenance costs, vessel noise and vibration.
