Offshore staff
ZWIGNDRECHT, Belgium — Empire Offshore Wind, the joint venture between Equinor and bp, has contracted DEME Offshore US to transport and install inter-array cables for the Empire Wind 1 and 2 offshore wind farms off the US east coast.
The cables will have a total length of more than 350 km (217 miles). One vessel from the company’s fleet will install it all in two campaigns.
DEME operates the Living Stone vessel and expects to take delivery shortly of a second DP3 cable installation vessel called Viking Neptun.
Once constructed, Empire Wind 1 and 2 will have a total installed capacity of more than 2 GW.
