Offshore staff
STAVANGER, Norway — Hitachi Energy will provide electrical infrastructure for Equinor and Polenergia’s new offshore wind farms in the Polish sector of the Baltic Sea.
The MFW Bałtyk II and MFW Bałtyk III developments, 27 km and 40 km from the port of Łeba, will have a combined capacity of 1.4 GW. The partners expect to take a final investment decision on the project in 2024, pending receipt of the necessary permits, with first power sent to the Polish grid in 2027.
Hitachi is responsible for the entire electrical system design, from the wind turbines to the point of connection into the grid at the Słupsk-Wierzbięcino substation in Poland.
The work scope includes a system study analysis and integration of all relevant equipment supplied by interfacing contractors, to ensure a safe and stable transmission system, compliant with the Polish Grid Code requirements.
In addition, Hitachi will deliver the overall power control system and telecom network, all HV equipment at the offshore and onshore substation, and perform interface work at the grid connection in Slupsk.
