STAVANGER, Norway — Ocean Winds will use Global Maritime’s OPSIM software to support simulations for early-phase offshore wind project developments.
According to Global Maritime, the software employs discrete event simulation methodology to generate complex simulations.
These are said to allow users to develop realistic transport and installation strategies, mitigate risk and optimize their engineering resource.
The software’s playback mode enables visualization of the simulation at a variable speed to support verification and quality assurance model behavior.
“OPSIM will play a key role during our early-stage evaluation of projects,” said Pilar Crespo, Ocean Winds head of offshore installation.
