LA CIOTAT, France — BW Ideol, EDF Renouvelables and Maple Power, a joint venture between CPP Investments and Enbridge, have agreed to cooperate on the design of floating foundations for France’s AO6 floating offshore wind tender.
This call for tender concerns two sites, each with a capacity of 250 MW. France’s government is targeting 40 GW of offshore wind power by 2050.
BW Ideol has two full-scale offshore floating wind turbines in operation in France and Japan and a 1-GW program under development in Scotland. Parent company BW Offshore provides experience from developing and operating offshore production systems.
