STAVANGER, Norway – Equinor and Naturgy are collaborating to bid for Spain’s first offshore wind auction.
This will likely take place in 2023, covering waters offshore the Canary Islands.
Equinor and Naturgy are jointly assessing the opportunity for a floating offshore wind project. According to Equinor, more than 90% of the Spanish offshore wind areas are in deepwater.
Naturgy is a Spanish utility with a portfolio that includes 2GW of installed onshore wind capacity in Spain, but is seeking to enter the offshore wind sector.
