SHARJAH, UAE – Lamprell has signed a reservation agreement for the Moray West wind farm offshore northeast Scotland in the UK North Sea.
This secures capacity for the work at the group’s Hamriyah yard for as the project moves towards financial closure and a full contract award.
Ocean Winds, a joint venture between EDP Renewables and ENGIE, is developing Moray West.
The base scope of supply covers 60 wind turbine generator transition pieces and two transition pieces for the two offshore substations, and shipping of all 62 to a marshalling harbor in the UK.
Lamprell expects a full notice to proceed on the contract early in the second half of 2022. In anticipation of this and similar renewable energy awards it has embarked on a yard upgrade which includes construction of a new production line for jacket components, transition pieces and monopiles.
