ATHENS, Greece – DEME Offshore has contracted Hellenic Cables to supply the inter-array cables for the Dogger Bank C wind farm in the UK North Sea.

Already the designated cables supplier for Dogger Bank A and B, with this contract the company becomes the sole inter-array cables supplier for the world’s largest offshore wind farm.

Under the new contract, the company will design, manufacture, test, and supply about 240 km (149 mi) of 66 kV XLPE-insulated inter-array cables and associated accessories. This is in addition to the 650 km (404 mi) of array cables already awarded for phases A and B.

The cables will be produced at the plant in Corinth, Greece. Production of the cables for Dogger Bank C is set to begin in 2023. Delivery will be a phased roll out in line with the project execution program.

Located more than 130 km (81 mi) offshore northeast England, the 3.6-GW Dogger Bank wind farm is being delivered by joint venture partners SSE Renewables, Equinor, and Eni. It is being developed in three phases Dogger Bank A, B, and C.
