Eneti orders second wind turbine installation vessel

Eneti Inc. has exercised an option with Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering to construct a second wind turbine installation vessel.

MONACO – Eneti Inc. has exercised an option with Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering to construct a second wind turbine installation vessel (WTIV).

The contract price is $326.0 million. The vessel is expected to be delivered early in 2Q 2025.

The vessel will be an NG-16000X design by GustoMSC and include a 2,600-ton leg encircling crane from Huisman Equipment B.V.

The jackup vessel is expected to be able to install up to 20-MW wind turbines in up to 65 m (213 ft) of water. According to Eneti, the vessel can be adapted so it can be fueled by LNG or ammonia.
