ESBJERG, Denmark – Hai Long Offshore Wind Project has contracted the Semco Maritime and PTSC M&C consortium to provide two offshore substations for the Hai Long 2 and Hai Long 3 projects in the Taiwan Strait, 50 km (31 mi) offshore Taiwan’s Changhua County.

These will supply over 1 GW of wind energy to Taiwan following commissioning in 2025-2026, and according to Semco Maritime, are the largest offshore substations awarded for any Taiwanese project to date.

Semco Maritime will lead the consortium, with ISC Consulting Engineers as the main subcontractor. The contract scope includes design, engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning of the substations including jackets, which will be constructed at PTSC M&C’s complex in Vungtau, southern Vietnam.
