OSLO, Norway – DNV will perform certification for one of Ireland’s largest new planned offshore wind farms.
Codling Wind Park is in the Irish Sea in the Codling Bank area, 13-22 km (8-13.7 mi) from the County Wicklow coast, between Greystones and Wicklow Town.
It is a 50:50 joint venture between EDF Renewables and Fred. Olsen Renewables. The expected capacity of up to 1,500 MW could supply electricity to up to 1.2 million Irish homes, or 70% of all Irish households.

It will also help the Irish government meet its target of doubling Ireland’s produced renewable energy from 35% in 2020 to 70% in 2030.
Subject to permits and consents, construction could start in 2024/25 and take up to three years to complete.
