ROTTERDAM, the Netherlands – Acta Marine has completed a three-year maintenance campaign on Ocean Breeze’s Bard Offshore 1 wind farm in the German North Sea.
The DP-2 walk-to-work construction support vessel Acta Auriga started the O&M works on Bard in April 2018 just weeks after delivery from Ulsteinvik.
The Acta Auriga replaced two maintenance vessels that were initially performing the O&M scope on the project.
According to the company, the following are the project statistics:
• 9,300 gangway connections
• 44,600 persons transferred
• 43,600 cargo pieces lifted
• 2,500 times around the globe in distance sailed
• 230,000 meals served
• Zero LTI.
After a short maintenance stop at Niestern Sanders, the Acta Auriga will continue to work in the UK offshore wind market as a construction support vessel.
Located 90 km (56 mi) north of the isle of Borkum, the 400-MW Bard Offshore 1 wind farm comprises an area of 52.9 sq km (22.9 sq mi). It is Germany’s first offshore wind farm. The project was fully commissioned in September 2013.
