LONDON – US Wind has appointed K2 Management as owner’s engineer on the Maryland Offshore Wind project (MarWin).
This is expected to be Maryland’s largest offshore wind project.
The work scope includes project management during the development phase. It also includes design and engineering and package management, including tender and negotiation support.
Located 17 mi (27 km) offshore, the 270-MW MarWin project is expected to be commissioned in 2024. Thirty-two wind turbines are to be installed in 66-98 ft (20-30 m) of water.
The project will help the state meet its mandate of securing 1,200 MW of offshore wind by 2030.
