ZWIJNDRECHT, Belgium – DEME’s jackup vessel Apollo has installed all 58 Siemens Gamesa 8.4-MW turbines at Otary’s SeaMade offshore wind farm in the Belgian North Sea.
Offshore construction of the SeaMade wind farm started in September 2019 with the installation of the monopile foundations.
DEME was responsible for the engineering, procurement, construction and installation of the foundations, turbines, inter-array and export cables, as well as for the installation of two offshore substations.
With a 487 MW capacity, SeaMade is the largest offshore wind farm in Belgium. It is expected to be operational by the end of the year and power 485,000 households.
