DUBAI, UAE P&O Maritime Logistics has secured contracts worth more than $30 million that will see three vessels operating in Taiwan’s offshore wind market from early 2021.

The cable-lay vessel Topaz Installer will be used in shore-to-sea and inter-field cable arrays for Subsea 7 and Van Oord until 2024. The end client is Ørsted Taiwan Ltd.

The subsea construction vessel Topaz Tangaroa will support Van Oord’s cable-lay vessel Nexus on cable trenching for Ørsted’s Greater Changua offshore wind farm. Delivered in 2019, the Tangaroa is equipped with a Q1600, 1200kW trencher.

Boskalis has contracted the Topaz Tiamat, sister vessel to the Tangaroa, for 3.5 years from January 2021. The Tiamat will support the foundation and monopile installation at the Changfang and Xidao wind farms.
