SAN DONATO MILANESE, Italy – Saipem has won offshore wind farm installation contracts with a total value of more than Eu90 million ($104 million) for three projects offshore the UK and western France.

The crane vessel Saipem 7000 will execute the work in each case.

For Dogger Bank offshore wind farms (a joint venture between Equinor and SSE Renewables), Saipem will transport and install two offshore HVDC platforms for the first two phases of the Dogger Bank project – Dogger Bank A and Dogger Bank B – 130 km (81 mi) from the coast of northeast England.

Both platforms will have a capacity of 1.2 GW and will comprise a 2,900-t jacket and an 8,500-t topsides.

Dogger Bank will be the world’s biggest offshore wind farm when completed, Saipem said, and the first in UK waters to employ HVDC technology.

Another contract is for the 1,075-MW Seagreen offshore wind farm, for joint venture partners SSE Renewables and Total. This involves installation of 114 foundations for wind turbines at the location offshore eastern Scotland.

Finally, Saipem will transport and install the jacket and topsides for the offshore substation at the St-Brieuc offshore wind farm in Brittany, France, under development by Iberdrola subsidiary Ailes Marines.

Saipem SA in Paris will handle all project management and engineering activities.
