DALLAS, Texas — Development drilling should start shortly at Beacon Offshore Energy’s Winterfell project in the US Gulf of Mexico (GoM). According to partner Kosmos Energy, first oil is scheduled to flow around the end of March 2024.
Elsewhere in the GoM, Kosmos added that the Tiberius infrastructure-led exploration (ILX) well is drilling in Keathley Canyon Block 964, targeting a four-way structural trap with potential oil resources of ~135 MMbbl.
The Odd Job subsea pump project, designed to sustain long-term production from the field, is on track to enter service by mid-2024.
Offshore Mauritania and Senegal, the bp-led partnership is now targeting first-quarter 2024 for first gas from Phase 1 of the Greater Tortue project, as they look to complete the delayed subsea work scope. Installation of the infield flowlines and subsea structures is now likely to finish early in 2024
The FLNG vessel should sail next month and arrive on location around the end of 2023 when hookup is due to begin.
The FPSO, built in China, underwent a planned stopover in Singapore earlier this year to install the fair leads. It too should arrive on location during the fourth quarter to align with the revised schedule for the subsea work scope.
All four Phase 1 wells have been drilled with forecast production capacity significantly higher than volumes required for first gas.
