DALLAS, TX— Kosmos plans to drill the Tiberius exploration well later this year in Keathley Canyon Block 964 in the US Gulf of Mexico (GoM), the company said in its latest results statement.
Tiberius, in the prolific outboard Wilcox play, is a four-way structural trap with potential resources of about 135 MMbbl of oil. Wells on similar structures in the outer Wilcox play have historically delivered a success rate of about 50%, the company added.
Elsewhere in the GoM, the Kodiak ST3 well will undergo a workover later this year to address continuing productivity issues.
The Odd Job subsea pump project, designed to sustain long-term production from the field, remains on track to be in service by mid-2024. And drilling of wells for the first phase of the Winterfell development should start this summer, with first oil anticipated by the end of first-quarter 2024. The partners expect to sign host facility and export agreements in the next few weeks.
