HOUSTON — Talos Energy expects to start dry dock maintenance next month for its HP-1 floating production unit in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico (GoM), the company said in its latest results statement.

This will lead to a 45- to 60-day deferral of production from the Tornado and Phoenix fields.

Elsewhere in the GoM, Talos spud the Seville exploitation well in late March. If successful, the well could start production this summer.

During the first quarter, the company extended its contract for the Seadrill Sevan Louisiana semi-submersible offshore drilling rig, adding three further consecutive rig operations that are currently scheduled for early 2023.

The six operations, starting in the second half of the year, include three potentially high-impact subsea tiebacks with pre-drill resources of 10 MMbbl to 30 MMbbl each.

Talos also expects to participate in three non-operated deepwater wells, all subsea tiebacks to infrastructure. They include appraisal of the 2021 Puma West discovery, which is set to spud in the second half of 2022.
